A new year, a new love for the beautiful people of the silent era.
I don't know how many of you out there have seen the new silent film, The Artist yet, but if you have...thoughts? I have heard it was great...and also heard it was boring. I was going to go see it tonight, but I read that the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor is showing it Thursday with an opening short...One Week with Buster Keaton! Yeah, guess who is going to that one?

As always some great pictures you chose. You often pick pictures one normally does not see in books or so and I love that. Jan 3rd was a busy day!! Good Ole Loretta Young...I loved what louise Brooks said about her...."The best thing to see was when ?? threw a chair at her". Sorry i can't remember the person but I think it was a director. I recall that quote (may be slightly different as i am going from memory)from the Bio on Louise Brooks by Barry Paris...Great Bio and he is an excellent writer in my book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation Birgit! It can be hard to find the best biography sometimes, especially when they have a bunch written about them. I don't remember if I read the Louise biography by Paris, but I will definitely check it out!
